Welcome to my blog, where I provide insight, analysis, and ideas for free to anyone who wants them. I abide by certain and specific rules when I write and post. I will follow these rules explicitly, and I will expect and require you to do the same as a reader:

1. You will be addressed in the same fashion in which you address me. Civility will be met with civility, rudeness with rudeness. Please refrain from name-calling, ad hominem attacks, libel, slurs, slanders, or grandstanding.
2. I will ask you to back up your assertions. I care about facts, logic, and data. If you make an argument but fail to back it up with evidence, then I reserve the right to delete your comments.
3. Please comment under a recognisable handle. This will facilitate discussion and humanise the discourse. You can call yourself The Last King of Pictdom if you want – it’s up to you. But please ensure that you comment under a handle.
4. You agree that I may delete your comments at my sole discretion. You are certainly free to criticise me in the comments if you wish. However, this is a personal site. It is a civil speech zone, not a free speech one. I police it actively to keep things collegial and easy to read.
5. No Trolls Allowed. I will give suspected trolls ONE warning. Defiance of that warning will result in comment deletions. Again, this is to ensure that things will be clean and simple. Spammers will not be tolerated at all, and I will bin spam comments immediately.
6. If you accuse me of making a false statement, please provide evidence. I hold myself to high standards of fact and evidence. I don’t take kindly to being accused of lying. If you believe that I am wrong, then call me on it and provide evidence. If it turns out that you are right, I will gladly apologise and correct myself – but if you accuse me of lying, be aware that things might get a tad contentious.
7. You are free to attack ME – but NEVER my family, friends, business associates, or clients. I don’t have a problem with people disliking my content, but I make great efforts to protect those that I care about. This is a simple matter of respect which I ask you to observe and follow.

The TL;DR version is: treat others as you wish to be treated, and be a good houseguest so that I can be a good host to you.
